Completion of significant internal and external structural and facade alteration and refurbishment to a five storey Grade B listed building in the centre of Stirling.
Work required close cooperation and interface with the designers as major structural works were undertaken to form new openings and a lift shaft throughout the building.
Complex internal structural alterations were carried out in parallel with stone work repairs to the facade and chimney breasts. These were carried out sensitively to ensure the integrity of plaster finishes and stonework details were maintained to meet planning requirements.
Roofing work was undertaken with repairs and replacement resulting in rot eradication, repairs to timber trusses and sarking, new and repaired slate work, replacement and repairs to lead gutters and downpipes with associated decoration.
Window openings had structural repairs, with new lintels and windows fitted throughout and new doors fitted.
In order to achieve a successful outcome, close collaboration with the design team was essential throughout this project, as demonstrated by our proactive approach to problem solving as work progressed.
